AIS has a record of good client relations along with a consistent execution of schedules and deadlines. AIS has more than 16 years of experience with preparing the environmental documents associated with CRM tasks for various federal, state, and local agencies, as well as in the private sector. The firm has performed work in the state of Pennsylvania for pipeline projects, residential developments, wetland encroachments, historic site compliance excavations, and National Register Nomination Projects.
AIS has extensive experience and back¬ground in prehistoric and historic archaeology; industrial archaeology; military site archaeology; and all other aspects of cultural resource management. AIS possesses the necessary equipment to perform the tasks associated with Phase I, II, and III Surveys.
Thomas Lewis is the Principal Investigator. He is experienced in the supervision and execution of both archaeological surveys and excavations. He holds a BA and MA degrees in anthropology from Temple University. His expertise includes prehistoric and historic archaeology. His work experience includes directing projects in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware on both historic and prehistoric archaeological sites. Furthermore, he has over 36 years of cultural resource survey experience.
Other personnel: Field and laboratory personnel will be assigned from the staff of AIS as needed. In addition to the personnel formally assigned to the project, the Principal Investigator will draw upon the experience and expertise of other members of the firm’s staff as needed. All personnel meet federal criteria for their job classifications.
